Stacey Brown est compositeure de plusieurs musiques pour projets de danse, de film et de théâtre ainsi que pour divers formations de musique de chambre. Elle a obtenu son baccalauréat de l’Université de Victoria (2002) suite à la création de son opéra de chambre multimédia ...never underestimate the power of a plot device..., projet réalisé sous la supervision de Michael Longton. Stacey a ensuite étudié la composition avec Michel Longtin à l'Université de Montréal, où, en 2005, elle a complété sa maîtrise. Elle est présentement chargée de cours à l’Université de Montréal, poursuivant à cette institution ses études doctorales sous la co-direction d’Isabelle Panneton et de Caroline Traube. Ses recherches portent sur l’opéra multimédia et elle est en train de composer un nouvel opéra multimédia sur un livret original de Sébastien Harrisson.

Stacey Brown has composed music for dance, film and theatre in addition to writing chamber music for a variety of instrumental combinations. Following the 2002 premiere of her multimedia chamber opera ...never underestimate the power of a plot device... written under the guidance of Michael Longton, Stacey received a Bachelor of Music from the University of Victoria. She subsequently studied with Michel Longtin at the Université de Montréal where she was awarded a Master of Music in 2005. Stacey is currently teaching music harmony and analysis as a sessional instructor at the Université de Montréal while pursuing a Doctor of Music under the co-supervision of Isabelle Panneton and Caroline Traube. Her main field of research is multimedia opera and she is in the process of composing a new multimedia opera with an original libretto by Sébastien Harrisson.
